The Regular Session of the 87th General Assembly will convene on January 12, 2009. Having served for six years in the House of Representatives, this session will be my first as a state Senator. I am excited and ready to go to work!

As the new Senator from District 8, I will be asked to make some tough decisions on the transition to annual sessions, the implementation of the lottery system, education and many economic and budgetary considerations, just to name a few of the issues.

Would you please take a few minutes to read this questionnaire and give me your opinion on some of the important issues we will be facing in the coming months? Your response is very important to me because I found that surveying the opinions of my constituents was most helpful when I was a state Representative.

Your opinions will be tallied and recorded and the results will be used to assist me in evaluating your support, or non-support on these issues when they come up in the Senate for a vote.
