Just a short time ago, I had the honor and privilege of representing the wonderful people of District 95 in the Arkansas House of Representatives. But due to term limits, my service in this capacity concluded after six memorable years.

However, I was asked to consider running for the Arkansas State Senate in 2008 and, after much prayer and consulting with many of you through my recent survey, I have decided to make the commitment to run for the open Senate seat in District 8. I made that decision public on June 28, 2007 at Frisco Park when I told the large number of people gathered that day that I would run and that I would run to win!

I have been so encouraged by the support that I have received, and I am very grateful! The size of the crowd on June 28th was an overwhelming example of that support. Also, forty new names were added to our list of volunteers at that time!
