Pro-Life:
100% voting record on pro-life issues in her six years in the House of Representatives according to Arkansas Right to Life. Cecile believes that life begins at conception.
2nd Amendment Rights:
Cecile will protect and guard your right to bear arms. She received an “A” rating from the NRA each of the three sessions while she was in office and is a life member of the NRA.
Infrastructure:
Money for highways should follow the cars. In other words, funds for infrastructure should be distributed by vehicles and need, not by regions. To continue our growth in Northwest Arkansas, we must continue to construct and repair roads, bridges and wastewater treatment facilities.
Illegal Immigration:
Supports the current 287g federal program to allow local law enforcement officers to help ICE with the issues of illegal immigration in our area. Cecile voted against House Bill 2212 in the 2001 Legislative Session, in its original form, that would have permitted an illegal to get a driver’s license.
Responsible and Limited Government:
Cecile wants state government to manage the tax dollars responsibly and effectively. This helps our economy grow and will let taxpayers keep more of their money. During the six years that Cecile Bledsoe was in the state House of Representatives, she did not vote to increase taxes and she will continue her fight to reduce the tax burden on working families. Cecile was awarded honorable mention from the Club for Growth because of her commitment to lower taxes, education reform and limited government in the 2001 Legislative session.
Private Property Rights:
Believing that private ownership of property is fundamental to the well being of our nation and the American family, Cecile is a defender of our private property rights.
Education:
Cecile will work for a quality education for all of our students in a safe and crime free environment. (In the last Legislative session, of the $919 million of the budget surplus, $456 million was designated for school repairs and construction and there was an increase in per-student funding by $121 million.)
Health Care:
Cecile will work for affordable and patient-directed health care with physician choice.
